Who We Are?

Our Mission

Wise Brain Vocational Institute teaches young people vocational and entrepreneurial skills so that they become self-employed by engaging in small and medium business. In addition to vocational training, our institute seek to create an enabling environment for our trainees by involving them in community projects.

Wise Brain Vocational Training Institute (WBVTI) is an indigenous vocational school in Liberia. It was accredited by the Ministry of Education in 2009. The institution was initially established in 1994 in Ghana at the refugee camp in central region. Since its establishment, WBVTI has carried out vocational training and capacity building activities. The following are the major past achievements:

Since 1994, WBVTI has trained about 2,500 men and women in the areas of Fashion Designing, Interior Decoration, Pastry/Cookery, Tie and Dye making. WBVTI recently began training young people in Theater arts and Soap making.  About 75% of our trainees are women. Some have become professional Fashion Designers and producers who own boutiques and shops in Liberia. They have grown from bare struggling mothers to entrepreneurs. They are also helping others in places where they reside. They can serve as evidence for the job we have been engaged in since the 90s.

Computer Skills

Our trainings are also being taught computer skills at technology centers established in Gardnerville and Barnesville-Monrovia. The computers (27) were donated by Mr. and Mrs. Mustapha Sambola (USA). Some of youth in Barnesville and Gardnerville are deployed in the institution for training relating to computer science. We also provide on the job training for some of our graduates as teaching assistant and some on the job training.

Wise Brain Vocational Training Institute has won two distinct projects from plan International and Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) in 2009 and 2010 respectively. We conducted training in management and Pastry (Catering and Cookery Science). Wise Brain is presently located in the Tusafield Road, Grassfield community, Supermarket, on the Gardnerville, Somalia Drive Road.
